Beattie proud of Bulls’ performance

Bradford interim coach Leigh Beattie was pleased with the effort his team made in tricky conditions in their Challenge Cup defeat to Featherstone at the weekend.

Although the Bulls lost the home game 21-13, Beattie took some positives from the game.

“I’m over the moon with their performance, the conditions were awful but they tried their best,” Beattie told his club’s official website.

“We had four hookers out there today and they did the best with what we could do.

“They really showed them what we were made of. The boys dug deep and didn’t let Featherstone get away with much. I don’t think that the score line represented the game.

“I’m really happy with the boys that played their hearts out, out there today. They are disappointed with the loss but they were a credit to the team out there.

“We were all over the moon, I thought that we had a really good dig at them, it was tough old school rugby out there in that mud. We didn’t really have any fit bodies left for the final ten minutes.”
