Batley beat Dewsbury 12-4

Batley have notched an eight-point win over rival Championship side Dewsbury on Boxing Day.

The Rams opened the scoring after 19 minutes through Jason Crookes.

Dewsbury held on to a 4-0 at half-time but could not keep the Bulldogs out in the second half.

Alex Bretherton and Shaun Ainscough crossed in the second half to wrap up the friendly win for Batley.

Around 2,123 fans were in attendance at Tetley’s Stadium for the Boxing Day contest.
