Barrow appoint new directors

Barrow have announced the appointments of Joe Slater as stadium director and Andy Gafney as the players director.

Slater brings a wealth of experience in business and has also enjoyed a successful playing career in the amateur ranks.

Slater has been at the club for a couple of weeks now and he has already identified a number of maintenance tasks that are required to keep the ground up to minimum standards. He is hoping to organise a volunteer team to get stuck in to the tasks at hand.

Gafney returns to the Raiders in an associate director capacity. He has maintained a close working relationship with the playing and coaching staff and has a wide range of contacts in the rugby league community.

He will help Barrow assemble a competitive team for Championship rugby league next season.

The Raiders are still looking for a council member, media director, facility director, hospitality director, commercial and fundraising director and finance director.
