Anderson believes Tansey signing can benefit the Giants

Huddersfield Giants head coach Paul Anderson thinks new signing Jordan Tansey has joined the club at the right time and that the club can benefit from his arrival.

Anderson’s side have suffered a number of injuries at the start of the new 2016 season that have given the Giants a slow start to the year, with four defeats from their first four games.

The Huddersfield head coach has reacted by acquiring the services of Jordan Tansey from Wakefield, and Anderson explains why Tansey’s arrival will benefit the team in the long run.

“For starters, he’s a player who’ll give us more experience out on the field, which is something we need,” Anderson told the Huddersfield Examiner.

“And the fact he’s a recognised full-back is also important. Aaron Murphy has done a great job there over the past few weeks, but he’s a more natural winger or centre and is a lot more comfortable there.

“He can now make that move back, and also enable several other players to play in their right positions. Because of our injury problems, we’ve had to play a lot of players out of position.

“But with Jordan coming in, and Eorl Crabtree, Joe Wardle and Kyle Wood looking fit to resume, we can put players back into their accustomed position. When you do that, yoiu start to get more continuity and consistency in your performances, and the results usually follow on from that.”
