Championship club London Broncos have signed hooker Amir Bourouh on a two-week loan deal from Super League side Salford Red Devils.

The 21-year-old joined the Red Devils on a two-year deal from Wigan ahead of this season. He has featured in friendlies but has yet to make a first team appearance.

Bourouh will be included in London’s squad to face York in Sunday’s Championship clash.

The Huddersfield-born dummy half made his Super League debut for Wigan in 2019. He went on to make nine appearances for the Warriors, as well as spending time on loan with hometown club Halifax last season.

Bourouh was born and raised in England but is of Algerian and French descent through his father’s side of the family.

Jermaine Coleman looking for 80-minute performance from London

London Broncos Plough Lane

London Broncos Head Coach Jermaine Coleman has said he is looking for an 80-minute performance from his side as they look to bounce back in the Championship.

Their Challenge Cup adventure was ended on Sunday by Bradford. In that game, they were in it with an hour gone, but three late tries saw Bradford run away with it in the end.

It is the Broncos fifth straight defeat in 2022, as they adjust to life as a part-time team.

Speaking to the Broncos club website, Coleman said:“We need 80-minute performances.

“Against Bradford, we played well for an hour, and in that last 20 minutes we got caught out.

“I sympathise with the frustration of the fans, and unfortunately results right now aren’t going our way. But there’s reason to be positive.

“The effort and work rate of the boys in training cannot be faulted. We want to translate that energy into the weekends. Once we manage that, I think we’ll start stringing some results together.

“I’m disappointed. For 60 minutes, we played some of the best rugby league we have all season.

“But the last 20 minutes were unacceptable and will need to be addressed. We had opportunities to put some real pressure on Bradford in the first part of the second half, but we couldn’t capitalise.”
