London Broncos will ground-share with AFC Wimbledon at Plough Lane this season

London Broncos winger Lameck Juma is hoping his side can cut out the errors they made against Widnes ahead of their next match on Sunday.

The Broncos make the trip north for the first time this season, as they take on Halifax. London could find themselves up against former forward Titus Gwaze, as well as possibly facing former half-back Cory Aston. Both players left the Broncos at the end of 2021.

Juma is a new arrival at the Broncos, having signed from fellow London side the Skolars, and is proud to wear the Broncos.

Speaking to the club website, Juma said:“Our reaction will be almost as important as our performance too. This is the time to show our character and determination to play for the badge.

“Wearing the Broncos shirt is a great experience and honour, we’re aware of that and want to play to our full potential every time we take to the field.”

Juma doesn’t think Broncos “should be too hard on themselves”.

The Broncos played their first game since moving to Plough Lane against the Vikings on Sunday. They played in front of just over 2,000 people, their highest attendance since welcoming Leeds to Ealing in 2019.

While Juma was disappointed London could not get the result for the fans, he believes the Broncos will come good once the combinations develop.

He added:“It wasn’t the result we wanted, and the lads are disappointed particularly given the support we received from our fans who were outstanding.

“I don’t think we should be too hard on ourselves. We’re a new squad and Sunday was the first time we played together competitively.

“It will take time for those combinations to develop. But, equally, most other squads are in the same position and we can’t use it as an excuse. We made too many small errors which led to penalties, and that hurt us.

“If we can cut those out, we’ll give ourselves a better chance of returning home with a positive result this weekend.”
