Willie Isa signs new Wigan deal

Wigan have announced that back-rower Willie Isa has signed a new two-year deal with the club.

The new deal will see Isa at the DW Stadium until the end of the 2023 season.

Joining from Widnes in 2016, Isa, 32, has made 168 appearances for the Warriors. Playing 20 games in 2021, Isa captained Wigan for the first time in his career as he led the side to victory in their final round victory over Catalans in September.

The back-rower has two Super League rings and League Leaders’ Shield medal to his winning collection so far at the club.

 “I’m absolutely delighted to have a signed a new contract with this great Club,” he said.

“There are exciting times ahead under the new coaching management for the Club. I’m really looking forward to the season ahead.”

On the new deal, head coach Matt Peet added: “Willie Isa is an outstanding professional. He takes every opportunity to improve himself and the team.

“We are looking to build a culture and leaders like him play an important part.”
