All Golds eye dual-code deal for former Rooster

Gloucestershire All Golds are interested in talking about a dual-code deal for former Sydney Roosters winger Luke Hume, who is currently on trial at Gloucester rugby union club.

Hume, 25, came through the ranks at the Roosters, before going on to play rugby league for New York Knights in the American National Rugby League. From there, he went on to play rugby union at international level for the USA, and more recently Rugby Sevens.

He hails from Sydney, but moved to America at the age of 20, and is also attracting interest from Gloucester’s fellow Aviva Premiership rugby union outfit Bath.

All Golds President Lionel Hurst said: “We are already recruiting strongly for next year and have been following Luke’s fascinating story with great interest.

“His pedigree is impeccable, having risen through the ranks at Sydney glamour club the Roosters. There is no doubt that he would be a very significant addition to our playing roster for 2014.

“We are very friendly with Gloucester Rugby and would also consider a dual registration agreement, whereby Luke could play Rugby Union in the Winter and Rugby League in the Summer.

“This approach would sit neatly with a number of significant partnerships that exists between the two codes in the county.”
