Doncaster forwards Mike Emmett, Mark Castle, Brett Waller, Matt Carbutt and Russ Spiers have all signed new contracts for next season.

The club are delighted, as the five forwards have been in outstanding form of late, setting a solid platform for the team to build on during their current four-match winning run.

The blue and gold’s are now in the final play-off position in the Championship thanks to their recent form and they also have a game in hand over both Dewsbury and Workington who are placed just above them.

Dons’ chief executive, Carl Hall, said: “This is great news for the club – our pack has been superb this season and have led the team really well.

“As a club we aim to endorse continuity and stability and I feel we’ve benefitted from this policy over the last few seasons with the success we’ve enjoyed.

“Next season is a massive year for rugby league with the anticipated restructuring in 2015 so it’s important we play to our potential and have a good year.

“We’ve competed well in the Championship this year after last season’s promotion, and I believe we have one of the best packs in the league and I’m thrilled they’re all staying with the club.”
