York City Knights have boosted their squad ahead of their NRC game at home to Keighley with the capture of England Academy starlet Jordan Thompson on a months loan from Castleford Tigers.

Former Normanton Knights junior Thompson – who can play in any position across the back line – made 15 SuperLeague appearances for Castleford in 2010 and went on to end the year on a high with three tries in two games as he helped England Academy to a test series win over the Australian Schoolboys.

Thompson goes straight into Dave Woods squad to face Keighley at the Huntington stadium on Sunday (3pm) along with Sam Lynch and Rhys Clarke who come in contention to play as they return from injury.
