York City Knights appoint new Media Manager

Correspondent

York City Knights have today appointed a new Media Manager as preparations for the 2013 season begin to take shape both on and off the field.

A unique partnership with the successful website LoveRugbyLeague.com will see their Yorkshire Correspondent Gavin Wilson join the club on a part-time basis, helping to improve the club’s outreach to all media platforms, write articles for both the website and match day programme and control the club’s social media accounts, both on match days and throughout the week.

25 year old Gavin was born and raised in Heworth and is a lifelong fan of the Knights, and with the assistance of work placement students from York St. John University the club look forward to engaging with as many fans as possible – both old and new – as the Knights embark on an exciting final season at Huntington Stadium as we know it.

Gavin said: “I’m thrilled to be working with the Knights! To work for the club I have supported all my life is very exciting. I hope that my experience will help the club greatly, especially at such an important time as the new stadium moves ever closer.”

Knights Chairman John Guildford said: “We are very pleased that Gavin and LoveRugbyLeague.com have joined the Knights. The club will see some changes for the better over the next few seasons as we prepare for life in the new community stadium and we feel that this partnership is just the start of that. Gavin understands what we are trying to achieve at this club and we are confident he can help us do that.”
