York second-rower Chris Clough has been banned for four matches for a dangerous tackle in his side’s match against Hunslet.

Clough was deemed to have jumped from the ground and used his legs in a scissor fashion around the feet and ankles of Hunslet winger Waine Pryce to bring him to the floor in the second half of their Championship 1 clash.

The second row also dropped onto the back of his opponent’s legs with the full weight of his body, placing undue pressure on the Hunslet player’s ankle and knee joints.

Clough, who pleaded not guilty, was also fined £50 and issued with a formal letter warning him about his future tackling technique following a RFL Disciplinary Committee hearing.
