Wolves injury crisis worsens

Warrington Wolves' injury crisis worsened yesterday with the news of three more casualties following Monday's defeat at home to Huddersfield Giant.

Half backs Chris Bridge and Lee Briers, and loose forward Vinnie Anderson all picked up knocks in the 26-18 loss, and are doubtful for Friday's trip to Leeds.

Briers, who only returned in Friday's trip to Salford, has suffered a recurrence of his hamstring injury, whilst half back partner Bridge has been sent for an x-ray of his ankle injury.

Kiwi Anderson is suffering from a knee injury.

Paul Cullen said: “We have picked up injuries to Briers, Bridge and Anderson in yesterday’s game and all are rated as doubtful for our fixture against Leeds on Sunday. We are preparing for the game without ten of our senior players and are drafting in players from our Senior and Junior Academy to cover. But we welcome back Ben Westwood from his two match suspension.”

The trio join internationals Paul Johnson (Finger) and Adrian Morley (Cheekbone), Chris Leikvoll (Hamstring), Rob Parker (Hand), Paul Wood (Knee), Michael Sullivan (Ankle) and Simon Grix (Shoulder) on the sidelines.
