France star William Barthau will remain a Toulouse player for the 2019 season.

The 28-year-old made his Super League debut in 2010 for Catalans Dragons but found chances limited.

Barthau then spent three seasons with London Broncos in the Championship, before joining Toulouse ahead of 2018, where he has played 28 times for Sylvain Houles’ side.

On his new deal, the France half-back said: “I’m glad to continue my adventure with Toulouse.

“I feel that we have become aware of the work and effort required to reach the Super League. It’s in our hands now.”

Toulouse chairman Bernard Sarrazain added: “William perfectly integrated into the club.

“His first season at Toulouse was very promising and I’m sure he will be even better in 2019.”

Barthau has earned 13 caps for France.
