Wilkes ban appeal fails

Wakefield’s Oliver Wilkes has had his appeal against a one-match ban dismissed by the RFL Disciplinary Committee.

Wilkes, 32, was handed the suspension for a reckless tackle on Rob Burrow during the Wildcats’ 38-18 win over Leeds on Monday night.

The forward will now miss Wakefield’s derby clash against Castleford this weekend.
