Wigan have signed forward Taulima Tautai from Wakefield for 2015.

Tautai, 26, joined the Wildcats from Parramatta last year, and has made 15 appearances for the club.

The Sydney-born utility, who can play at second-row, loose forward, prop and the centres, was selected in both the Samoa and New Zealand training squads for the 2008 World Cup, before being ruled out due to injury.

He made 39 NRL appearances for the Eels, and alos played 33 games for Cronulla in 2010/11.

Tautai said on Twitter: “I am excited for the opportunity of becoming a Wigan Warrior in 2015. I am looking forward to improving as a player and growing as part of their team.

“I am very impressed with Wigan and feel that this is the correct step forward for me in my life and career.

“Although I am grateful for this move, I would not be in this position if it wasn’t for Richard Agar believing in me and giving me my first chance in Super League.

“My focus for the rest of the 2014 season will be to return from injury and put my energy into the success of my current team, the Wakefield Wildcats.”
