Widnes unveil new kit and squad

Championship side Widnes have unveiled their new home kit as well as their full first team squad for the 2011 season.

The squad includes no fewer than 18 academy products, as well as new signings from Super League including centre Steve Tyrer, back-row forward Simon Finnigan and half-back Chaz I’Anson.

19-year-old Danny Craven, who burst on the scene last season, has been handed the number 1 shirt, while mid-season signing from Blackpool Kurt Haggerty has also been given a squad number in the first 13, taking number 12.

The new strip, designed by Brian O’Connor the brother of Vikings’ chairman Steve, is manufactured by Irish sportswear company O’Neills.
