Widnes continuity pleases Kevin Brown

Widnes skipper Kevin Brown is pleased that there has not been too much change at his club during the close season.

The 30-year-old is also looking forward to becoming full-time skipper, following the retirement of Jon Clarke.

“We’ve not had a massive amount of turnover which probably for the fans is a bit boring but for the players it’s business as usual,” he told BBC Radio Merseyside.

“The continuity that we have from day one, with just having three quality additions rather than six or seven, you can hit the ground running and start from where you left off.

“You get used to each other and I think that’s what we’ll have from the start of games.

“I try to lead by example and be one of those leadership players.

“I was captain at Huddersfield for a few years and I enjoyed that and I’ve been lucky enough to be under a few good captains, none more so than Clarkey, and I’ll hopefully do a good job taking over his armband.”
