Whitehaven: We need to step up

Whitehaven coach James Coyle says his team need to step up against London tonight.

Haven host the Broncos after going down by just a point last on Monday by Batley at Mount Pleasant. They have won three of their seven games so far this season

“It was a great effort, the boys all worked really hard,” Coyle said.

“We are playing some good stuff at the minute, but not quite getting the results. It’s small margins with us. We’re a good side, but we just need to step up.

“London will be a great test for us and we want to show what we can do against a full time team.”

London Broncos bounced back from a 28-20 reverse at Bradford last Thursday by grinding out a 20-12 home win over top four rivals Featherstone Rovers on Monday.

“I think we’ve got a lot more to give as a team which is an exciting thought,” London coach Andrew Henderson said.

“We were able to get the monkey off the back with our first win in Cumbria a couple of weeks ago and we’re all looking forward to making that big trip up again.”
