Whitehaven sign two on loan from Widnes

Whitehaven have signed prop Paul Johnson and hooker Grant Gore on loan from Widnes for a month.

Both will train with the Haven squad this week in the lead-up to the team’s opening Championship fixture against Halifax.

“I would like to thank Whitehaven for enabling us to further develop our players,” said Widnes coach Dennis Betts.

“Grant Gore and Paul Johnson will be part of the Whitehaven squad for the next month.

“It’s a great opportunity for these lads to get game-time and also to enhance their fitness and be ready when we need them.

“I would like to thank Whitehaven for taking our players on and hope that we can build a strong relationship with the club moving forward.”
