Westwood to miss Wire’s Cup semi-final

Warrington Wolves back rower Ben Westwood will miss his team’s Challenge Cup semi-final clash with Hull Kingston Rovers.

This is due to his being suspended for two games, after pleading  not guilty to aa Grade B shoulder strike on Castleford Tigers player Luke Gale.

He was also fined £300.

Three other players were also hit with punishments for incidents in the weekend games:

Benjamin Garcia (Catalans Dragons) – loses right to submit an EGP for next 12 months for a Grade A dangerous throw v Leeds Rhinos.

Karl Ashall (North Wales Crusaders) – two-match suspension for a Grade C dangerous throw v Barrow Raiders.

Stephen Wild (North Wales Crusaders) – two-match suspension for a Grade C dangerous throw v Barrow Raiders.
