Watts hit with charge of biting in Hull derby

The RFL have confirmed that Liam Watts of Hull FC is facing a charge of Grade E biting, relating to an incident in the game against Hull KR two weeks ago.

Watts was charged by the RFL Match Review Panel on Thursday following the findings of a formal investigation into the incident.

The prop does not have the option of submitting an Early Guilty Plea (EGP), and will appear before an independent disciplinary tribunal on Tuesday August 4.

Two other players have also been charged by the RFL.

Gareth Langley of Rochdale Hornets has been charged with the Grade D offence of using foul and abusive language to a match official in the League 1 fixture against Swinton Lions played on July 26.

York City Knights player Ed Smith has been charged with Grade B punching on Osian Phillips of South Wales Scorpions in the League 1 fixture played on July 25.

Langley does not have the option of submitting an EGP.
