Warrington welcome back Ackers on loan

Warrington have signed their former academy hooker Andy Ackers on a month’s loan from Swinton.

Ackers, 21, joined the Lions for the 2014 and scored nine tries in 24 appearances.

He returns to the Halliwell Jones Stadium on a four-week trial basis.

Man of Steel Daryl Clark and Mickey Higham are the two first choice hookers for the Wolves in 2015, with prospect Brad Dwyer out on loan with London Broncos.

Ackers initially played his academy rugby league at Wigan, before moving on to Warrington, where he was voted Under 19s player of the year in 2013.
