Ward signs for Featherstone

Featherstone Rovers have announced the signing of Robbie Ward until the end of the 2016 season.

Ward was previously playing for Sunshine Coast Falcons, a feeder club for the Melborune Storm in Australia, but has returned to England just months after moving Down Under.

The former Leeds Rhino hooker has already expressed his delight at being at the Championship club, with goals of playing in Super League in the near future.

“It was a dream of mine to play rugby league inb Australia and I had a great time there,” Ward told the club’s official website.

“With our partnership with the Storm I had the opportunity to play with some great NRL players but it’s good to be back home despite the weather!”

“I know it’s going to be tough getting into the 17, the team is playing really well and I’m under no illusions how difficult it will be but I’m going to work hard to show Jon Sharp I’m worthy of a place. I still have ambitions of playing in the Super League and the way the team is progressing there is no why that can’t be with Featherstone.”
