Wane: Cas defeat will be big motivation

Shaun Wane says Wigan’s 27-10 defeat at home to Castleford at the start of April will be a huge motivating factor when the teams do battle again on Saturday.

Wigan have bounced back with three wins in a row since that game, but Wane admits the Tigers will be a tough test for his team.

“We’ll be going there and trying our best – they’re the best team in the comp,” he told the club’s official website. “I think Daryl (Powell) will be the happiest out of any Super League coach at the moment with his team.

“There’s no team that has really hit their straps yet apart from Castleford, they’ve been consistently good.

“I think we’re in a better position because of the manner of how we lost the last game, we were poor and they were by far the best team.

“I think the scoreline flattered us, we weren’t good enough so that will be a big motivating factor for us.
