Scotland drop Adam Walker after failed drugs test

Scotland have dropped Adam Walker from their provisional World Cup squad after he failed a drugs test.

Walker, 26, tested positive for cocaine following Wakefield’s win at Widnes last month and he has been suspended by his club.

Scotland RL chairman Keith Hogg said: “We totally support the RFL anti-doping regulations and the action undertaken by Wakefield Trinity.

“We will be withdrawing Adam Walker from our extended World Cup squad.”

Meanwhile, coach Steve McCormack has added NRL pair James Bell and Campbell Graham to what is now a 37-man squad.

Bell, a back-rower, and Graham, a speedy winger, made their NRL debuts for New Zealand Warriors and South Sydney Rabbitohs respectively last weekend.
