Wakefield confirm Pauli Pauli signing

Wakefield Trinity have signed Pauli Pauli on a one-year deal from Newcastle Knights, with the option of a further year.

The 23-year-old is a utility-forward and can play in the front-row, back-row or even at loose forward.

He will make the move from the NRL to play in the Betfred Super League for the 2018 campaign.

Pauli made 33 appearances for Parramatta Eels between 2014 and 2015 before making the move to the Knights, where he caught the eye of Trinity coach Chris Chester.

And Chester admitted that he feels the City New South Wales representative can add a lot to his side next term.

He said: “Pauli is a great addition to what already is a strong looking pack, bring some real quality to our go forward and bring an x-factor to our attacking play.

“He is a big, strong, powerful athlete with a good offloading game.

“I have had nothing but good reports from people in Australia about Pauli both on and off the field.

“I am really looking forward to working with him over the next few years and I am pretty sure he will become a fans favourite.”
