Vidot injury blow to Salford

Salford Red Devils are to be without star signing Daniel Vidot for a large part of the 2016 Super League season.

The Samoan winger was one of the Red Devils’ many high profile signings during the off-season, as they looked to improve on their 11th place finish in Super League last season.

However, they will have to be without the ex-Brisbane Broncos player for a large chunk of the upcoming season due to a shoulder injury Vidot suffered in training.

Vidot signed a two year deal with the club, but has undergone surgery this week and posted this on his own personal Facebook page:

“Been a tough period for me at this present time but every man has a storm in their lives, what makes a man is what he does when that storm comes. Half the season will be missed from me due to this injury, but when the time comes for me to chuck the boots back on, I’ll be ready #surgerytime #recoveryroad #illbeback”
