Toronto Wolfpack and Bradford Bulls announce partnership

Four-time Super League champions Bradford have signed a dual-registration partnership with new Championship side Toronto Wolfpack.

The two sides swapped places in the rugby league pyramid last season, with the Bulls being relegated from the second tier and Wolfpack romping to the League One title in their debut season.

They will play each other for the first time this Friday in what is expected to become an annual pre-season fixture.

A Bulls club statement said: “The partnership with the Wolfpack will increase the number of players available for the upcoming season, adding strength in depth for the push for promotion.

“Off-field relationships will prosper as both franchises will exchange marketing, commercial knowledge and best practise methods for the good of the fans and clubs alike.

“The combined expertise from both coaching teams of John Kear, Leigh Beattie, Paul Rowley and Brian Noble will provide a considerable advantage for both clubs going forward.

“The cohesion of both sides will help initiate the development of Bradford’s reserve grade squad, allowing fringe and young players quality game time to develop and prepare to play in the first team squad.”
