Toronto have signed USA international Ryan Burroughs for the 2017 season.

Burroughs, who hails from Manassas, Virginia, started his career with the Northern Virginia Eagles where he notched 33 tries in his debut season.

After only playing rugby league for two years Burroughs earned himself a contract with NSW Cup side Wentworthville at the start of 2016.

The fullback scored 17 tries for Wentworthville last season.

Wolfpack head coach Paul Rowley said: “We made a commitment to North America and Canada to unearth talent from within to which Ryan is one of the several targets we have identified.

“Ryan is a very proud American man with an unbelievable enthusiasm for the task ahead and I’m looking forward to working with him and guiding him to improve and progress as a player.”
