Following on from the announcement that they are to feature in the Magic Weekend, it has been confirmed a second Toronto Wolfpack home game in 2018 will take place in England.

Their game against Halifax, currently scheduled for Saturday April 28, will now be played away from their home at the Lamport Stadium.

A Halifax club statement said: “We are currently in discussions with the RFL and Toronto to come up with a solution within England.

“We appreciate that this may come as a disappointment to some Fax Fans who were excited about the prospect of a trip across the Atlantic but this has not been our decision to make.

“We will update you as soon as the alternative is clarified. The club will be making no further comment at this time.”

The Wolfpack’s game in Round 14 against Toulouse will be played as the curtain raiser for the 2018 Magic Weekend at St James’ Park on Saturday May 19.

That leaves their home game against Swinton, currently scheduled for Saturday May 5, sandwiched in between their two home games in England.

The game against the Lions is now going to be their first home Championship game of the season, with their first 11 games all being played away from home.

Toronto are yet to taste defeat in Canada, having only lost two games in their debut year of existence – away at Salford in the Challenge Cup, and at York in League 1.
