Hull FC winger Tom Briscoe says Hull FC will take a lot of confidence from their last two Super League victories.

Briscoe played in his side’s 34-26 win over Salford, which propelled the Airlie Birds into sixth place in the Super League ladder, five points ahead of city rivals Hull KR who lie in eighth place.

Briscoe believes his side can make the play offs comfortably, and says the best is still to come from Airlie Birds despite back-to-back wins over Hull KR and Salford.

He said: “Two wins from our last two games has put us right in the mix for the play-offs. That’s a big positive to us and we just have to keep building on the back of that.

“We’ll get a lot of confidence from grinding that win out yesterday and hopefully we can take that into the Wigan game. We always believe in our abilities, but picking up two wins on the bounce will give everybody a lift.

“We still aren’t as consistent as we’d like and we know we’ve got plenty of improvement left in us, which we will have to show against Wigan this week.”

Hull FC travel to the DW Stadium to take on the Super League leaders on Friday night.

Briscoe believes his side have to be on top of their game if they are to defeat a side who are the pace setters for the entire competition.

He said: “They are setting the benchmark in Super League at the moment and we know from past experience that it’s a very tough place to go and win.

“We’ll have to learn from the mistakes we made against Salford this week, but we have a platform to work from now and we really want to kick on until the end of the season.”
