Super League stats: Jake Connor hits double figures of try assists

Hull full-back Jake Connor has hit 10 try assists in the opening five rounds of Super League.

Connor, 27, played an influential part in his side’s 31-8 victory over Leeds at Headingley Stadium.

In a man of the match performance, Jake Connor crossed for two tries, taking his tally to three for the season. He also made one assist for Adam Swift, taking his tally to 10 so far in 2022.

Huddersfield half-back Tui Lolohea also leads the way with 10 assists following his side’s victory over Castleford on Saturday.

Josh Charnley remains at the top of the try-scoring charts with eight, despite missing his side’s visit to champions St Helens.

Tommy Makinson and Kenny Sio sit closely behind with seven tries so far. Jai Field has six.

Tackling machines

Wigan’s Sam Powell leads the way with most tackles with 205 in the opening five fixtures. He made an impressive 49 tackles against Catalans.

Salford hooker Andy Ackers is in second spot with 199, while Matt Whitley has 196. Hull KR back-rower Frankie Halton made a further 30 tackles in their win over Salford, taking his tally to 186.

Wakefield winger Tom Johnstone made 143 metres in his side’s victory over Toulouse on Friday. It was Willie Poching’s side first victory of the 2022 season.

Johnstone leads the way with 761, while Field has 748.

Makinson registered two clean breaks against Warrington, taking his tally to seven for the season. Field also has seven in an impressive season so far for the Warriors full-back.

Marc Sneyd has kicked the most goals so far in 2022 with 17. Makinson and Ratchford with 16.

Hard-working Derrell Olpherts 

According to the Super League stats, Castleford’s Derrell Olpherts made 19 carries against Huddersfield on Saturday. He has crossed for three tries so far this season.

Olpherts has made 96 carries so far, while Joe Westerman has 86.
