Super League Pod Predictions – Super 8s & The Qualifiers

Lucy Gordon
Super League Pod host Mark is joined by Warrington fan Leigh to look back over the Challenge Cup action and give their predictions for this week’s Super 8s and the Qualifiers, in association with Love Rugby League.
Hull FC v Wakefield: It’s only a few weeks since Trinity put over 70 on Hull, so do the boys think more of the same this time? Mark picked Wakefield to win by 14. Leigh also went with Trinity, but by 8.
St Helens v Huddersfield: Can Saints bounce back from Cup disappointment? Can Huddersfield keep their good form going? Both Mark and Leigh are backing Saints to bounce back. Mark has it as a close 4 point win, Leigh thinks it will be comfortable 18 point win for St Helens.
Warrington v Catalans: The Cup Final dress rehearsal comes hot on the heels of the semi-final celebration hangover for these two. Mark and Leigh both go for home advantage. Mark has Wire by 4, Leigh has gone very optimistic and thinks Wire can manage a drop goal victory.
Wigan v Castleford: The opening Super 8 TV game is a key top 4 battle. Again, both of the guys go for home advantage. Mark thinks Wigan will win by 10, Leigh has the Warriors sneaking a close one by 2.
Widnes v London: The SLP boys went the same as each other in this one, Widnes by 10.
Hull KR v Salford: In the 2016 Million Pound Game rematch, Mark is backing Rovers by 12. Leigh has gone the other way, and sees Salford take it by 8.
Leeds v Toulouse: Can Leeds get out of crisis at home to Toulouse? Leigh thinks they can in a big way, tipping a 28 point win. Mark thinks it will be closer, Leeds by 14.
Halifax v Toronto: Both Mark and Leigh see a big win ahead for Toronto at surprise package Halifax, by 20 and 24 point margins respectively.
Listen in to Episode 193 of Super League Pod to hear them justify these predictions! They also pick the SLP Games of the Week from the Championship Shield, where fighting relegation is the focus, and League 1, where its the sides looking up at the playoff spot that get looked over.
