Stone seeks stong start against Leigh

Huddersfield Giants coach Rick Stone wants to see his team make a good start against Leigh this weekend, in their Qualifiers clash at Leigh Sports Village.

Last week, Leigh won at Hull KR, while the Gianst were convincing in victory over London Broncos.

“Only a complete performance this weekend will get us what we need as far as a win is concerned,” Stone told his club’s official website.

“Defensively against London, we were the best we’ve been for a long time last week which is good. Hopefully we can put in another performance like that. I thought we were a little bit impatient early in the game last week so we need to rectify that.

“The start in this game is going to be particularly important and discipline I would say.

“There’s a lot of emotion flying around in this game so who manages that and keeps their cool the best will be pretty significant.

“Each game we play from now on is significant, no doubt about it. But it’s one step at a time for us.

“We’ve been gradually building these last few weeks, we’ve got to concentrate on this one and make sure we put our best efforts into it. If we play up to our potential, we’ll be okay.”
