St George 10-6 Cronulla

St George Illawarra produced a workmanlike performance to defeat Cronulla 10-6 at Wollongong.

Elusive skipper Ben Hornby opened the scoring for the Dragons and despite some decent attacking sets from the Sharks the 6-0 scoreline remained until the interval.

The Sharks replied with David Simmons going over for a try from Blake Green’s kick but the Dragons hit back with a score from makeshift centre Ben Creagh which was enough to secure the win.

The Dragons will sweat on an injury to Matt Cooper, who tore a hamstring while Sharks fans will wait on the fitness of Trent Barrett who was sent to hospital with a head injury.
