Sneyd encouraged by Pryce partnership

Hull FC half-back Marc Sneyd felt tha his new partnership with Leon Pryce worked well in the win over Huddersfield on Sunday.

Both players are new to the Black and Whites, with Pryce arriving in the close season from Catalans and Sneyd signing from Salford, via Castleford.

“Me and Leon seem to be complementing each other really well at this early stage of our combination,” Sneyd told his club’s official website.

“We are obviously playing on opposite sides but we switch every now and again to change things up slightly, and considering we have only played three games together I think there are good early signs for us both.

“I tried to get involved as much as I could offensively with it being my first league game for Hull, I was keen to show everyone exactly what I could do and I think I have started well. I’ll look to kick on from here.”

Sneyd also felt that the whole team put in a great collective performance, something they will need to do again when they welcome Warrington to the KC Stadium this weekend.

“It was a great game and every single one of the lads played a part in the win,” he added.

“I don’t think that anybody was off their game and to keep Huddersfield to a nil as well makes it that little bit sweeter.

“That really is a great achievement especially when you consider the threatening players like Danny Brough and Jamie Ellis in their team.

“It is a fantastic start for us and shows what we are capable of.

“Warrington are next up for us, it doesn’t come much tougher for an opening home match but the fans were absolutely fantastic in Huddersfield and I’m sure it will be booming at the KC Stadium on Friday night as well.

“Having an atmosphere like that behind you gives you a massive boost, especially in the later stages when you are starting to get fatigued, so I’m really looking forward to seeing what they are like at a home fixture now.

“If they are as vocal as they were in this match then they’ll certainly give us a helping hand, and as for the players we have to go into that match as positive as we can be.

“We have stamped our intentions for the season already and it’s up to us now to follow that through and maintain the quality in our performances.”
