Smith submits EGP and gets one-game ban

Wigan scrum-half Matty Smith has submitted an Early Gulty Plea (EGP) for his charge of Grade B kicking in last Thursday’s game against Widnes.

He has therefore been hit with a one-game ban, which will see him miss the Warriors’ next Super League game against the Huddersfield Giants.

He will be available for the World Club Challenge clash with Brisbane Broncos, however.

His Wigan team-mate Joel Tomkins has been formally cautioned by the RFL for his behaviour in the same incident.
