Skolars snap up Worrincy

London Skolars have completed the signing of Michael Worrincy, after he was released by Leigh.

Worrincy, 26, joined the Centurions in the close season after spending a year Down Under with Penrith Panthers, but failed to settle in the north west.

The former Harlequins and Bradford back-rower, a graphic designer by trade, had struggled to find work to supplement his time at Leigh, and he has opted to move back down south to be near his family.

Championship 1 side London have wasted no time in signing the Broncos academy graduate, who has previously played with local amateur side Greenwich Admirals.

Leigh Head Coach Paul Rowley said: “I have been in constant talks with Michael over the last few weeks. He has struggled to find work here in the north, and as such has found it difficult to settle, as his family are still based down south.

“Michael has really enjoyed his time here at Leigh, but due to his personal family circumstances both Michael and the club think it best for all concerned to go our separate ways. I’d like to thank Michael for his efforts, and wish him the best of luck for the future.”

Worrincy made his debut for the Skolars in their Good Friday clash at Doncaster.
