Sene-Lafao: Tigers staying grounded

Castleford forward Jesse Sene-Lefao insists the Tigers are remaining grounded despite moving six points clear at the top of the Super League (11/10 Grand Final Outright with Betfred).

Daryl Powell’s men wrapped up a 36-16 win over Warrington Wolves on Sunday to extend their advantage at the top of the table.

Winger Greg Eden continued his stunning try record by scoring five tries to take his tally to 30 for the season, while Greg Minikin and Mike McMeeken also crossed over.

Another sublime display from Powell’s men has seen them tighten their grip on the League Leaders’ Shield, but Sene-Lefao insists nobody within the camp is looking too far ahead.

He told the Pontefract and Castleford Express: “I feel like we’re on our way but we’re still challengers, we haven’t won anything.

“It is something (being the first Castleford side to ever win the league) that crosses your mind, but we don’t think about it too much.

“We had a good start and that’s it. I like that we challenge to win every game and challenge to win everyone’s respect. The business end is now on in.

“I’m really looking forward to these big challenges when teams are going to step up and try win games because they don’t want to be in that bottom eight.

“For us it’s a mindset challenge. We just stay focused, stay humble and just take every game as it comes.”
