New signing James Segeyaro is set to make his Super League debut for Leeds this Friday away at Hull FC.

Segeyaro landed in the UK yesterday and fronted media this morning.

The former Penrith hooker is expected to get his first taste of Super League away at the Airlie Brids.

“Hopefully, fingers crossed I’ll be good to go,” he said.

“It’s a massive game for us, Hull is the benchmark at the moment. I’m focused on this Friday.”

Segeyaro said he has always had ambitions to play in Super League, and spoke to ex-Leeds hooker Paul Aiton about the move.

“I had words with Pauly before I moved over here,” he said.

“Hopefully I can follow in his footsteps and have some success over here.”

Segeyaro said he will bring energy and a high-tempo playing style to the Rhinos.

“My energy just in general, my performance around the ruck is a big part of my game.

“Bringing my forwards on to the ball… and obviously winning. I haven’t come here to lose, I’ve come here to win.”

Segeyaro said Super League will suit his game.

“It’s right up my alley,” he said.

“I want to succeed and I want to win football games.”
