Manly star Kieran Foran is set to make his return from a hamstring injury when he lines up against the Roosters on Sunday.

The Sea Eagles will be without Glenn and Brett Stewart, Tony Williams and Jamie Buhrer who have been called into the New South Wales Blues Origin camp.

halfback Daly Cherry-Evans meanwhile will remain with the Sea Eagles after being named as Queensland’s 18th man.

Coach Geoff Toovey said he was confident Foran would feature in the match with the Roosters at Brookvale Oval.

“If it was a grand final last week he probably would have played so we’re pretty confident that he’ll train all this week with us and that he’ll be playing,” Toovey told the club’s website.

Co-captain Jason King said the Sea Eagles will be ready for the the visit of the Roosters, who will be without halfback Mitchell Pearce, who is also on Origin duty.

“He’s their halfback and a lot of the play comes off him so he will be a loss to their team,” King said. “The same as the guys out for us have been a loss to our team.

“But they’ve got plenty of quality players that will step up to the mark and plenty of leadership there so it’s going be a tough match for us, no doubt.”

Despite losing four key players to Origin, King admits the Sea Eagles still have plenty of experience to call on.

“I think there is, not just on myself, a bit more responsibility on everybody that’s in the team to go out there and perform,” he said.

“We’ve lost some quality players to Origin duty so it will be up to everybody, the entire team, to step up to the mark and perform well.”
