Gold Coast skipper Scott Prince has made a surprise return to rivals Brisbane after being granted a release.

Rumours the 32-year-old halfback has been seeking a move from the Titans have been circulating for several weeks, with officials from Hull FC making no secret of their intention to sign him.

But instead Prince, who has 278 NRL matches under his belt, will join the Broncos with whom he spent several seasons before leaving to join Wests Tigers in 2003.

Prince has joined on an initial two-year deal after Titans bosses granted him a release from his contract.

He will commence training with the Broncos on Monday.
