Scott Grix will start at full-back for the Wolfhounds

Ireland coach Mark Aston has named his squad for the forthcoming European Championship, and it includes some Super League and Championship players.

Huddersfield full-back Scott Grix and Castleford scrum-half Liam Finn are named, as are Greg McNally and Bob Beswick of Leigh.

Gareth Gill and the highly rated Casey Dunne are two of the domestic players included in the group.

“It’s great to have a number of experienced players back in the squad this year,” said Aston.

“We were very unlucky last year to lose out on points difference. We will be looking to put that right in this years competition.

“We have quite an experienced squad with Liam Finn, Bob Beswick and Scott Grix all involved. And we only have three uncapped players in Gareth Gill, Oli Roberts and Joe Keyes.”
