Schofield leaves Barrow

Garry Schofield has left Championship side Barrow after just five games in charge.

The Great Britain legend, 45, was heralded as somewhat of a coup by Raiders chairman Des Johnston earlier this year, but it appears that the former Hull and Leeds player has ran out of patience at Craven Park.

The Raiders crashed out of the Northern Rail Cup at the group stage and are yet to start their Championship campaign, having been handed their bye week in round one, and face in-form Leigh at Craven Park on Saturday.

Recently, Johnston berated his players and coaching staff as “overpaid and under-performing” in the local press.
