Warrington winger James Saltonstall has extended his loan spell at Bradford by another month.

Saltonstall, 20, was part of the Italy squad at the recent World Cup, and could now make his Super League debut for the Bulls later this month.

Head Coach Francis Cummins said: “We are really pleased to see James staying around for another month, he is a great guy to have around the place.

“He has worked extremely hard since he arrived and he has certainly put himself about while on duty in the trial games.

“James will be continuing training with the first-team squad, upping the competition levels out wide while adding further pressure for places.”

Saltonstall has played in all three of Bradford’s pre-season friendlies, having joined on-loan alongside fellow Wolves youngsters Joe Philbin and Tom Walker.

The front-row pair have now returned to the Halliwell Jones Stadium, and turned out for their parent club in Sunday’s win at Leigh.

Wolves coach Tony Smith said: “At the moment we are happy for James to stay at Bradford, until we look at things further down the line.

“We will be working out what is the best spot for him, either at Bradford or back with ourselves, but we will certainly look at that in the coming weeks.”

Salstonstall, who hails from Halifax, played in Italy‘s famous 15-14 win over England on the eve of the World Cup last autumn.
