Salford Red Devils prop Daniel Murray has joined Halifax on an initial one-month loan deal.

Murray had already spent time with Fax on dual-registration last season, making six appearances for the Championship club in 2017.

And Halifax coach Richard Marshall thinks the young forward will add a lot to his side.

He said: “Dan fitted in really well last year and I think he has improved even further over the offseason.

“I’ve kept my eye on him and spoken to his coaches. We must give thanks to Salford for making us aware of Dan’s availability.

“He’ll be coming with a point to prove as well because he’s a super league quality player but we’re lucky to have him and he’ll add a bit more competition to our pack. We felt we needed a bit more experience and a bit of punch in our pack and we know what he can offer the group.

“I think he’ll add to us with his running game, he’s a strong physical presence and he’ll be better for this experience.  Our pack needs to be more ruthless in its approach and I think Dan will add to that.”

Murray added: “It’s good to be back. They’ve got some quality lads in the team and playing with them sort of players will obviously help my development.

“The championship is a competitive league again this year so it’ll be great to come up against the top teams in the league.”
