Salford have terminated the contract of forward Jansin Turgut with immediate effect.

The Turkey international has been under an internal investigation by the Red Devils but it is unclear as to what he is alleged to have done.

Turgut joined the club ahead of the Qualifiers from Hull FC last season and signed a new one-year deal ahead of the 2019 campaign getting underway.

The 23-year-old has made 10 appearances for the Red Devils this season and became a fan favourite at the AJ Bell Stadium.

In a statement released by Salford, it read: “The club would like to thank Jansin for his time at the Red Devils and will be making no further comment on the subject.”
