Salford confirm Vidot exit

Salford has confirmed that outside back Daniel Vidot has left the club by mutual consent.

Love Rugby League broke the story last week that Vidot was set to depart.

Red Devils Ian Blease said: “Daniel has requested to return to Australia to be close to his family.

“As a club we have agreed to this request and would like to thank Daniel for his efforts.

“We realise that his performances didn’t quite achieve our shared ambitions and we are now actively searching the market for a suitable replacement.”

Head Coach Ian Watson has gone on record to thank Vidot for his application during his time with the Red Devils.

“Daniel came across to give it a fair crack, he struggled with injuries early on which didn’t allow him to get up to speed as quickly the other boys and he’s struggled with some family issues,” Watson said.

“We understand that family is hugely important for Daniel who provides a lot for his love ones, and we were never going to stand in his way when he said he wanted to go back.”

Upon confirming his departure, Vidot was quick to recognise the support of the Red Devils supporters during his time at the club;

“I’ve really enjoyed my time here, it wasn’t easy fast season with injuries but i really gave it my best shot. It’s a decision made purely for my own reasons and has nothing to do with anyone at the club. Everyone here has been massively supportive of me and I can’t thank them enough. I wish everyone at the Red Devils the best for 2017 and beyond and I’d like to thank all of the fans who have been fantastic with me since I arrived, and I hope they understand my situation.”
