Salford back Dan Sarginson handed three-match ban

Salford back Dan Sarginson has been given a three-match ban by the Rugby Football League’s match review panel.

The 27-year-old full-back or centre was charged with a Grade C dangerous throw in their 28-0 defeat to St Helens on Monday night. He is set to miss Salford’s upcoming games against Wigan, Warrington and Hull KR.

Warrington prop Sitaleki Akauola was given a one-match ban for a Grade A dangerous contact in their 26-20 home defeat to Huddersfield on Monday. He is set to miss Saturday’s home clash with Castleford.

Meanwhile, Leigh centre Iain Thornley and Salford prop Sebastine Ikahihifo were charged with Grade A high tackles but will not face suspension.

James Maloney (Catalans), Ligi Sao (Hull), Luke Briscoe (Leeds) and Alex Walmsley (St Helens) all received cautions.
